STAYING IN TOUCH
Rainbow C.D.C utilizes many parent communication tools to help you stay
informed about your child’s classroom and education. You are your child’s
first teacher; therefore, open communication is vital to your child’s
experience at Rainbow C.D.C. Knowing what your child is doing during the day
helps you reinforce and encourage the same topics and activities at home.
This kind of consistency helps your child become an active, enthusiastic
learner.
Parent Visits
We encourage you to stop by Rainbow C.D.C any time. Your child will
appreciate your attention and enthusiasm, and you’ll enjoy seeing what goes
on during our busy days. Visiting your child during classroom hours (as
opposed to busy mornings and late afternoons) helps you get to know our
teachers and other children and let’s you keep in touch with your child’s
daily world. Please speak with your child’s teacher to determine the best
time for you to observe the program. In addition, Rainbow C.D.C holds many
extracurricular events for parents and children to attend throughout the
year, which are other ways to enhance the home-to-school connection.
Conferences
As much as our staff loves talking about your child with you, please
remember that our staff needs to keep their attention on the children. The
best time to talk to your child’s teacher is during a scheduled conference.
Parent Volunteers
We encourage you to volunteer a few hours of your time at Rainbow C.D.C.
Your child will appreciate your enthusiasm and involvement in his/her life.
Read a story, put on a puppet show,
help serve a meal, play a musical instrument! Those few hours that you spend
volunteering in our classrooms will richly enhance the children’s experience
at school and their knowledge
